Softshell clam (Mya arenaria)
The softshell clam is a burrowing bivalve mussel. It is present almost everywhere along the coastline in Québec. It is harvested by recreational harvesters and in recent decades, by commercial harvesters, primarily on the Lower North Shore. The minimum legal size for harvesting is 51 mm.
